I'm sure Song Li isn't perfect, but whatever she's trying to call her, Chilly is the worst messenger after everything she's done. She has some audacity. No shame at all. To think she can still try and insert herself, without Luoluo's approval and with that much smugness.

I can't warm up to her much, especially when it's clear Luoluo doesn't see her in the way she wants. I don't doubt jealousy is also mixed up in this (regardless of w/e truths the video reveals). She's relishing the chance to 1-up Song Li, and that's not pure friendliness.

She’s more accusing her of using and monopolizing Luoluo.

In the earlier scene with the books, Song Li attracts Luoluo’s attention away from Chilly by messing with the books. Chilly isn’t sure if it was just a natural thing if or Song Li did it to get Luoluo to pay attention to her instead, hence Chilly’s comment about whether it was intentional.

As to Song Li “using” Luoluo that is part of the next chapter.

It feels like it's a bit of both - she's very obviously jealous, but I'm still inclined to think she's concerned for Hu LuoLuo as well, even if she's not necessarily showing herself in a good light.

I mean, she can be genuinely concerned for someone without actually succeeding in doing anything very helpful (or even healthy) about it . . .

Yeah, audacity is a pretty good way to describe it - she only just managed to drag herself out of the shitter with LuoLuo, and she's decided she's the right person to be gate-keeping her relationships . . . And in such a way! All she knows about Song Li is the publicly available information, what she could glean from briefly meeting maybe twice, and the handful of information that LuoLuo has provided - which basically means nothing at all.

Oh, no, I forgot one thing: Song Li is beautiful, far more beautiful than Chilly even after the plastic surgery. Beautiful, and thus charismatic in the minds of far too many people. Never mind the fact that Song Li is ridiculously awkward and spiky and in most situations has significant negative charisma stats - this is why going mostly on the public information (which is basically publicity - advertising for her books, essentially) is so misleading.

Whereas the little bits that LuoLuo has revealed are all tinged with how she feels about Song Li, which is . . . well, confused is probably the best (only?) way to describe it, but with a strong subconscious element of "damn she's hot" hiding there. Song Li is charismatic, for sure - if you're already kind of falling in love with her, and she's kind of falling in love with you. Otherwise her mile-wide awkward streak is probably going to get in the way of everything else . . .

I'm getting more and more annoyed by Chilly - she's still tolerable (just), but she's burning through my sympathy pretty quickly at the moment.

It’s technically their fourth time meeting I believe. But the first time they’ve actually had a conversation.

The first time they met was when Luoluo was trying to hype up Song Li’s good points but fumbled and made her sound worse than she actually is (Chapter 29).

In that same meeting Luoluo ran off with Song Li and left Chilly behind. Which is similar to what Chilly draws attention to in this chapter. Her view of Song Li is very narrow unfortunately.

Chilly’s no saint. She’s just a scared idiot with abandonment issues. (Ironic right?)
