To answer the question asked at the end of the chapter, I think it's not education level that matters but curiosity level and interests. If you're a person who has an insatiable thirst for learning, and almost all topics interest you, it is hard to be compatible with somebody who is only interested in a very narrow range of things.
There is a positive correlation between education level and level of curiosity, so I do think it matters somewhat, but it's certainly not the main factor in compatibility, I'd argue.
