[MANGA IDENTIFICATION HELP - Looking for an obscure manga I read years ago]

Hi everyone! I'm trying to find the name of a manga I read several years ago, but no matter how much I search, I haven’t been able to track it down. I’ve checked my history, browsed through hundreds of completed series, and searched manually on manga sites, but nothing has worked. I'm hoping someone here might recognize it from the details I remember:

• The main protagonist is weak or has no powers, especially compared to others in the story. He's not your typical strong or overpowered lead.
• The story might begin on a school rooftop, or at least that’s where the protagonist meets the main female character.
• The female co-protagonist has blue hair, although that might only be noticeable in colored images since the manga itself is in black and white.
• She is able to transform into a wolf- or fox-like creature.
• I later found out she is actually a fragment or part of the final antagonist’s spirit (or soul). That twist plays a role in the story.
• I think the protagonist’s grandfather may have taken care of him, though I’m not entirely sure.
• I have a vague memory that the cover shows the girl’s face prominently.
• The art style wasn’t super mainstream, and I’m open to lesser-known or obscure manga, including completed ones.

I’ve already tried filtering for transformation themes, school settings, and supernatural elements, but haven’t had any luck.
