I haven't read the novel, but...
The person adapting this is pretty opinionated, huh? For all their arrogance about changing things because they think their ideas are better than the original, their changes in this section have inspired me to stop reading this for the time being—even though I was enjoying the heck out of it before.
We were in the middle of a very tense moment in the mainline and I want to see the resolution. But the manhua adapter says they decided to move the simulation into the middle of this part, to make it "long", and have Lu Bu need to "repeat" it multiple times.
This is their brilliant idea as a pro author knowledgeable in the tension of crises? Uh, no, as a reader: it's obviously exactly the opposite.
I'm exasperated wondering how long I'll have to reread some interrupting post apocalyptic wasteland arc before I can get back to what I was interested in. It's such a disappointing prospect that I lost interest.
