There's too much foreshadowing that they are evil. It's like they said "they're suspicious 10 times" with the way they are paneled. Also one of the chapters with the dot eyes looks funny a squint would've made it less obvious...
Still post-apocalyptic settings are always interesting I think this one does it decently for now.
