It's a bit concerning author is aware that holding a character hostage works, John's very powerful but he's got tons of people he cares about, he's already lost his sister, which enabled the powers but not to the full extent, losing someone else might be it 🙁

I do like how the guy had the bomb, an issue that could've dragged on the rest of his character, but was dealt with immediately, and works to fill the plot hole of "isn't that guy fast?"
