I can literally see Aka trying to appeal to those who liked Oshi no Ko in this one.Welcome back aka
Considering that Oshi no Ko was a disaster precisely because of its chaotic, excessive and hard-nosed edgy content for the sake of shock value, I'm afraid that the problem was the opposite, namely that he doesn't know how to limit the edgy stuff and doesn't know how to plan it. But hey, it's only the second chapter and this manga has its own official supervisor, it's too early to say anything.I feel like Aka's in his natural realm here. He does know how to write dark, messed up stuff - so let's hope this manga stays that way, unlike OnK which was bipolar at times, not to mention the godawful clusterfuck that is the final arc.
I like the body horror here, too. Gives off some Junji Ito vibes.
Same problem in guya's last arc. He has problem with plot involving law and politics which the last arc of both series were.Considering that Oshi no Ko was a disaster precisely because of its chaotic, excessive and hard-nosed edgy content for the sake of shock value, I'm afraid that the problem was the opposite, namely that he doesn't know how to limit the edgy stuff and doesn't know how to plan it. I whined a lot when Kaguya started to dip in quality a bit in the second half of the manga. But from Oshi no Ko's perspective, it all seems really petty, lmao.Same problem in guya's last arc. He has problem with plot involving law and politics which the last arc of both series were.
The peak big brain plot in guya was the cultural festival balloon imo. Aka hasn't made better 'mind blowing' scheme since then.
