murder stuff aside i couldn't have imagined walking home alone or with 'just' a friend in middle school let alone elementary, feels like other than cc tv or cops patrolling everywhere does seem like they'd be easy targets (i don't know if i still look young or if they were hitting on me as an adult but i've def always been offered rides by men/strangers before [not that i'd necessarily go in with a woman unless it was an emergency but 4 outta 5 times, the only time a woman offered was when i was at the gas station and it suddenly started storming on us and a nicer old lady offered but my neighborhood was right next to it so i didn't need to])

Anyways thanks for the chapter

Thanks for the chapter. I suppose the guy with the shears is the ghost of the ex-teacher who got dismembered. The question is if he (was driven) to do it himself by whatever he found on the mountain, or if the thing he found on the mountain killed him and has taken on his form in the town (which would explain why the search party found no sign of anything on the mountain at the time and why the appearance seems stuck in time).

In Japan it's normal for students to walk to and from school, from elementary to high school. It's just how their society works, as there are very few school buses or parents sending kids by car.

Yeah it’s more of a walking culture and you can take a train everywhere but at the same time it makes me feel like ppls guards would be lowered naturally to where they could get pickpocketed and such

hough. l really like the ambiguity of like. Is it just the ghost of someone who lost it? Or is there something stranger going on with him and this body he found....

the detail of the sign being written in childish hiragana is interesting, too. He was 30ish when he died, and a teacher, too.

I get this. It’s pretty enviable. I live in a third world country myself and always gotta have my guard up outside. Always just normal to have people around in gangs to be more intimidating and to not look easy. The scary ones are actually the alone weirdos because they are unpredictable. Had an unkempt looking guy go up and bang up the car I was riding for seemingly no reason at all. I even had people with me, but that lone dude didn't care. Didn’t even try to rob or anything and just hit the front of the car, screaming. We just drove out. People here just give those types a wide berth and don’t do anything. Too many of them and too little people care enough to do anything about them.

Kinda funny to see people think more in the lines of “hes got a friendly face, so he must not be that bad! Dont judge a book by its cover”.

I wonder what happened to the dismembered body? The horror behind the horror is the story of a man who saw something gruesome, something no one else believed, and was haunted by it until he died...

Yep either way even tho it might be fairly safe on a road to school, one still wouldn't wanna just go on a run at 2 am 'just because' since even when ur not in a city with a nightlife district there has been some stereotypical scenes/lines like "you're a woman you shouldn't go to the convenience store by yourself" tho i'd hope with warnings there'd be ppl being more on guard if not some kinda neighborhood watch (tho i do remember seeing a 'social experiment' vid of like young boys versus young girls asking someone to walk with them down an alley or so)

sounds like that guy might've just mentally ill or so, i think there's one guy in our neighborhood with tons of trash bags attached to his car but the cops can't (or won't ) do anything about it
