Nah, it's not axed. The author just is kinda sporadic with the manga they work on. They have like 5 series going on at the same time, and which one they're focusing on at a specific time seems random.

(I'm pretty sure they're trying to hit it big on a series, so they're testing out a bunch of different ideas. It's pretty common in the manga industry, and it's the main reason one shots exist)
