1. If the planet they found was inhospitable, then is was not suitable by definition.

2. If they had the technology to teraform a planet, just fix the original damn planet!
Maybe they did maybe the guys the founders who terraformed ars were a fringe group in a similiar way to the first colonists of the new world minorities of their own world etc they fled percieved persecution and when support bk at the home world dried up they could no longer sustain the terraforming of ars and had to disband but left all the facilities behind

i mean i'm just guess/making this up so who knows

Thank you for the translation!

Now this took a turn. I wonder what the central intelligence looks like?

@kyntelleron could also be a case of limited terraforming capabilities.

Terraforming an arid environment is easier than terraforming a desert, and terraforming a swamp environment should be easier than tundra or cold environment. Depending how they terraform the land, the starting conditions and components needed would be different after all

Halt criminal scum!
For the crime of defiling this place with blood, thou shalt be sentenced by... spilling yer blood in this place.

Not very smart, aren't they

So they're believers of "humanity isn't worth saving" ideology huh?

Wait till they meet "indomitable human spirit" :kek:

No you don't understand. I just made a planet-wide gravity alteration technology that could change ⅕ Gs to 1 whole G and actually maintain that state for thousands of years dude I gotta flex that somewhere

Some Spoilers about the Terraforming and the new guys.
It's been a few years since i read this, so take everything i write with 2 spoons of salt....
I have forgotten MUCH about the story....

This is mostly correct as far as I remember.
They are not able to terraform planets completely, only tweak some things.

There were only 2 issues with this planet itself.
But otherwise, it was a fairly decent planet.

As for them terraforming their own planet, I don't remember why that was an issue.
But I think ( this is purely a gut feeling as I do not remember )
But it was probably a typical story of it being too late to salvage the planet and faster/easier to start over somewhere else.

It's worth noting that unless I am wrong ( which is plausible as it's been a few years since I read this )
These guys were not Androids and were organic "demons" created by the original settlers AKA "The Makers".

Deeper spoilers from here.
*
These were the guys who made humanity drop a nuke that removed all Aether and regressed in technology.
Because they found no other way to fight them off than to destroy the world itself, making it uninhabitable for them.

The first issue with the planet is that it is naturally lacking in Aether.
( just like our world )
And they need Aether to live, so making them Automatons/robots is a fair change to be honest.

There might also have been an issue with distance.
This is pure speculation, but I think they do not have outstanding space travel capabilities.

This planet was confirmed to be the best one they could find, but it is very close to their homeworld.
(Which, in space terms, VERY CLOSE is an important factor )
And even for us, transporting alot of equipment is both hard and expensive.

The second issue is the planet's size.
It was mentioned in earlier chapters that when the world's gravity generator was damaged.
The gravity is originally a little too weak because the planet is, all things considered, kinda small.

The whole planet in the current medieval period? only had like..... 7 kingdoms/countries in total.
So, for scale, you could imagine the whole planet being around the size of Europe + North and South poles.
Both poles are currently uninhabitable by normal humans, but are going to become relevant somewhat soonish.

They do still have magical powers that let them fuck with gravity.
In the novel, there was one of these guys who was going around killing villagers with gravity magic and summoning monsters.
That said, we might see them later if they only change the phasing....
They were kinda important for the plot, so I am expecting them to show up eventually.

And from what i remember only ever a single ship that made it to this planet.
So this was probably not a massive project for the whole race to migrate, despite what one would believe.
And more of a last-ditch effort by a few people to not let the race die out.
