A belated much thanks for this translation, and also great thanks for the anime / manga comparison. I watched the Anime a long while back and barely remember it, but recall it being better than the manga.
The breakdowns at the end of this chapter have shown me why I liked the Anime better. I don't mind fanservice, but I feel like the Magikano manga relies on it too heavily to the detriment of the characters and plot. Good fanservice oriented works understand that people need to like the characters and care about them and their relationships to be emotionally invested enough in them enough to want to see the fanservice.
Plus, I've got to say, the fanservice in Magikano so far seems creatively lacking, and honestly not even that sexy. Well drawn, but there's no real artistry to it. Nowadays people don't like Anime making changes to the source material (often for good reason as Undead Unluck and the Yozakura Family had really bad changes) but there are sometimes good reasons for it, as some past Anime have shown.
The original Rurouni Kenshin Anime vs the Manga being a great example of the original work being elevated quite a bit. The music, voice acting, and even some of the new characters made things better honestly.
