Jeez, girl, you don't have to sell yourself short. Most native English speakers would have difficulty with the technical language in research papers. If you can parse a paper in English and then accurately translate it to Japanese, you read English better than a sizable chunk of people I know; that takes more effort than just what you'd pick up from a relative speaking the language.
