Getting character development via some mooks is pretty common, but still, this chap had it a contrived overdrive.
Trying to shakedown an artisan to accept a job, for "making a pointless pretty trinket", and then the design of those two at the last page....Seriously?

Also, I feel like the TL in this one came off very wonky. "Hit it"?
And the dad's memory-speech is weird. I assume it was meant to sound "southern-like" without understanding it was meant to sound like that, and the MTL just pooted out w/e.

Such a garbage technique. He needs to shove his sister right into peril before this power can even activate, and once it does the sword is instantly ruined? Hilarious. I hope he keeps doing that and never learns a more convenient way to fight.

...Is the mc absolutely sure he isn't following the original plot on autopilot? This event could easily be the very reason the family gets 'offed' in the original timeline...

Maybe the previous chapters were like this too and I just didn't notice for some reason, but this one was very obviously some very bad MTL
The previous one was definitely better than this, feels like this one was without editing or proofread

Plot: Generic, but eh, seen worse

Translation: Honey you need an editor or a proofreader. Or both. If a chapter uses "hit it" several times in it and it feels weird even a little, don't publish it. You need a second person to read the script to make sure its not the completely wrong term. What you needed here was "forge it".
The blacksmith would FORGE the sword, not hit the sword. Change the word and whoop, perfectly fine translation, even if awkward in some spots.
You NEED second eyes to go over a chapter.
