At least they comment on the similarities to Japan in the manga. in the anime they're just handwaving it.

I have come to the conclusion that there is only two types of Device redesigns, minimalist, and overdone. Raising Heart fall into the first category. super stripped down, very utilitarian. Laevatain and Graf Eisen fall into the second. why is Laevatein so bulky and overengineered, it looks like a Power Rangers sword. and Graf Eisen has this weird thermos thing shoved into the shaft, on top of a un-ergonomic kink in the shaft itself.

Person to blame for typesetting here. I am also not happy with it. I try to match font changes that mangaka makes with font changes of my own. Of course I can not use the same font, people expect comicky fonts and any font mangaka uses is likely customized for Japanese. In this case, they have consistently used some thin font for internal monologues.

If anyone has suggestions of some manga suitable thin font I am all ears. Thin font is top right. Bottom left is used for dialogue and I use Wild Words for dialogue.
