The whole Emma and Shirley line at the beginning is related to Mori-sensei's works Emma and Shirley, both seminal mangas about maids (also highly recommended BTW).
The joke about the squirrel is probably because "clitoris" in kana is written as kuritorisu, and "squirrel" is risu . So "Kuri the risu"... Yeah, very much a dad joke there
