ooh plot twist of the son 'knowing' tho it is kinda odd, because we don't know if some accident where they didn't recover her body versus her simply 'abandoning' them b/c you'd think the friends/neighbors would be talking about it if not like some funeral. if it's not just some "Ah, she ran off with another man in Shikoku"/being a deadbeat mom/didn't want the responsibility of raising a kid anymore which would be shitty
