merize might be the author of first love memories, in which iruma was once an assistant working with it.
I also think that, ppl are so quick to jump on Ameri and Iruma being cousins or something but there is very little evidence to suggest it other than Merize and Iruma being human, thats like saying Kalego and Balam are twins just bc they're both demons🤷🏽‍♀️
Meanwhile the chapter on Merize did close with the "first love" phrase and that being used as the title for the same shoujo manga collection Ameri has is way too much of a coincidence for it to be ignored given how previous snippets of easter eggs the author has left behind later got expanded and played out

This "miracle" of Sully better be a Derkila reveal next arc.
I think it is, in a way. no one is talking much about it, but the way he was saying "everyone has a right to trust in miracles", "wishing you might see someone precious to you again", feels like it can only connect to his bond with Derkila. it's like he's speaking from personal experience, and he then says "let's both trust it will come to pass". so at that point, he was already waiting for someone, if that's the case. he masks it by saying it's just platitude, but I think it's more than that.

people say his "wistful" faces after waking up here might be about him thinking about protecting Iruma, remembering the parallels with Merize and their struggles being similar during their time there; and I can see why, but for me, that's a lesser reason for these panels. I think the Miracle is the key point.

Kushinashi in the previous chapter also says "I know someone who wishes for the borders between demons and humans to disappear'. what a coincidence, Sullivan also brings this up soon with Henri after hearing his ambition, about borders someday dissolving.. It makes sense the temporary acting demon king knows about what the previous demon kings' innermost wishes are.. also Sullivan being Derkilas personal guard / one of the closest confidant lines up.

of course, Kushinashi could be talking about Sullivan, but a "strong wish", to me, wouldn't manifest in the form of someone casually bringing it up as a "joke" of a "maybe" like Sullivan did with Henri. so I really think it's Derkila with this wish. I don't remember their other appearances or hint towards what they might think of humans other than vaguely knowing Derkila believes in the importance of harmony and having a general, lackadaisical attitude, often choosing to relax rather than care about his usual responsibilities and meetings. They're someone who seeks novelty and joy, and maybe knowing humans exist, took an interest in them.

I think his temporary disappearance and leaving the Kings' seat was caused by him suddenly deciding on a whim finally do something about it, maybe on the human world. Alikred aside and whatever the hell that is (could be a "copy" or a "fragment" of Derkila or something carrying their will, sure, but it doesn't mean the figure itself is entirely 100% contained within Alikred and nowhere else).
I still think it's likely he was trying, maybe still is. could've also backfired and put them in the ring somehow, but that seems a lot more convoluted than just believing the copy/fragment theory.

this also explains why that one musician's confrontation with Sully (Poro, only vaguely remembering them from watching the anime showing their appearance again), when turning to the Baal's side because they want to see Derkila again, got resolved in that way. Where Sullivan understands, and just silently lets them leave; choosing not to fight, even if getting sad about it. I think he shares the same feelings as Poro, on top of potential comradery they share with each other.

the translation spell was "developed" by Sullivan with help of many demons a few chapters back in this flashback arc, but I really wonder if it's based on something else related to Derkilas' ideas or prototypes / wishes again rather than being a new invention.

because in the Heartbreaker Arc, I think there's a tangent parallel on the fact that on Chapter 240 Azz is saying that Balam helped him research a "kind of fire" that looks like the flower, based on existing research papers.. and then on Chapter 241 we get a random flashback that show Derkila was already developing a similar flower fire in the past with the help of Sullivan.. for having "flowers grow on flowing magma"
this just goes to show that similar magic can, and will get adapted and further experimented upon, for slightly different purposes. Heck, it did happen in this flashback too, where Henri wants a Translation spell specifically just for Humans (and it being called "Huma-ring" on usage), but Sullivan learns from Camui clan's Kinship, which is communication with all beasts and wild animals, seemingly.

I wonder if Derkila, in the past, already wanted a similar, stronger, universal translation spell that's already in-line with their wishes and whims of removing borders, and that's where Sullivan knows where to pick up from and where to start.. when the use case is smaller, on range and species limitations, it seems like it's easier to do for any common devil like Henri, but for someone as strong as the former demon king, I'm sure they might've prototyped something more extreme and potentially succeeded.

Merize and Iruma are not related. They just kind of resemble each other as a reflection of Henri x Merize, the love that couldn't physically be; while Iruma and Ameri will make it happen. I can't picture Merize giving Iruma away if he was her child.
