Yeah. It was pretty hard to imagine Anna winning and going further into the bracket considering her "gimmick" wouldn't make for very interesting matches overall.
Then again, that's assuming we ever get to the second round of matches in this universe's lifetime.

Martial Arts winning was clearly the best decision, she hasn't revealed her 'magic' yet so there's a lot you can still do with her.

Meanwhile Anna had shown everything she had already and there wasn't much to do with her, especially since her gimmick essentially boil down to 'Kill her before you get killed by your own attacks'.

Pattern recognition wins again, I don't really care for either fighter but I do hope the next fight is better.

The fight went down on a similar route than Pegasus Seiya vs. Dragon Shiryu.

I was interested in who the other women are, there still are about 4 more matches. but I'm seeing a very obvious bias and lack of sympathy towards the west witches in the quicker matches. their abilities are interesting nonetheless, but the 'quick' matches seems to favor the east side. given that they even emphasize their national descent at all and through repetition. I suppose the author wanted to balance the roster.
many of the notable west women in history has suspicion that they are manipulated into becoming 'witches,' for political or religious gain with incriminating evidence imposed on their legacy. given that this is a fighting competition, the lack of the male gaze on women in history, only featuring them as cameos is palpable. (I do chuckle at the beautification of everyone - the named men and women.) the violence and history of these women are abstract and only amount to such, without comments on the structures they were a part of.
I digress as the later competitors are by far more creative and do feature less notable women. the fights have also been unpredictable, though this timeline feels as if it's only been a day(?) and we're many chapters in...
