(sigh) I know it’s not your fault, Toshiya, it’s that shitty old man’s…I’ll haunt you to the ends of the world, Mitsuda. You know, I actually thought they had stopped using the “DRAMATIC BASEBALL COMIC” tagline for mejaseca since using it would leave Shogakukan liable to a lawsuit for false advertising, is that really okay? I mean, this chapter…it's shitty. It’s a testament to Mitsuda’s dying art. What’s with all the kopipe? You could probably count the amount of new drawings on this chapter with one hand. They ought to take CTRL+C/CTRL+V away from you for a while so you can reflect on your actions. And don’t get me started on the genius dialogue like, “the powerhouse Eihou” (lie detected), “those three are probably brothers” (literally have the same face), and, how can I forget, “idk”.
"Leave the manga...before the manga leaves you. The manga's left him."
At the fear of coming across as repetitive, I'll say it for the third and (maybe) final time:
Furuya really wasn't shit, wasn't he?
Of course, it's only natural to hit a home run on the first at-bat against someone like Mutsuko. How many years have been wasted on this character again? Furuya (why do they keep using his name as an adjective…?), who was presented as the classic baseball manga main character archetype, being the lone strong player in a weak school who relies on him and works hard for his sake, ended up being a pathetic weakling who couldn’t hit off a girl and was scared of a midget and intentionally walked him. Meanwhile, the Hanamura brothers who are presented as a modern team reliant on a pitching staff are (so far) strong. This is how the DNA of baseball manga dies. (laughs) Well, it’s like how Shigeno Goro’s DNA also became lost, isn’t it? You know, it might be less shameful to lose against Chiyo-nee than it is to lose against Mutsko, at least Chiyo-nee’s built like a man…Furuya should give up on his baseball career since he couldn’t hit against someone like Mutsuko. Either way, the Hanamura brothers get to save a little face, which Furuya didn’t. Is baseball manga doomed when a character like Furuya can’t survive under the circumstances…? When I read the Fujimihara game, I thought that there was no way that Goro could have survived while under a puny little pitching limit and getting intentionally walked in all of his at-bats either. (Not that I'm comparing Furuya to Goro, that ship has sailed) It’s definitely doomed. I’ll have more to say about this subject in two weeks, which will mark the two hundredth chapter of mejaseca’s middle school edition, so let’s talk more about it by then
