This arc is a freaking grind. Too much filler makes Jack a dull boy.
You have to wonder why this manga gets protected from an axe. Does this still have a strong following in Japan?
Well, it's published in Sunday, which is known for having way laxer standards than other magazines. I suppose authors who can't make it in other magazines go to Sunday. And I guess I would say it
Does still has some kind of a "following" because sadly it does sell rather decently, again specially for a Sunday series where the large amount of series in the magazine sell laughably bad. Before I continue, I would like to emphasize that I'm not an expert in manga sales (I know there are people who are really into that), and I just basically follow their Twitter accounts and laugh at the numbers.
However, the recent volumes do sell rather poorly compared to the early ones as can be expected with a boring sequel like this. It's kind of old by now, but here's a chart @/JesusInStripeZ on Twitter made a couple of years ago which illustrates this:
(Yes I still laugh at this two years later)
The latest volume 30 debuted at 30,457 copies sold after six days on sale, which was good enough for number fifteen that week. Let's see, generally, I notice it sells about the same as Komi-san, but the final volume was released that week, so it naturally sold a little more than usual. So for comparison, it sold about the same as Seitokai ni mo Anna wa Aru! volume 9 which sold 29,619 on seven days. The most recent update was four days ago and it had sold 40,035 copies after thirteen days on sale so far (+9578). So thankfully, it's still declining more and more! Here's to more lol!
Sorry for the late reply, also chapter 301 is out now
