When I read Toshiya’s line of, “I think you have no need for breaking balls”, I thought things like, “Well, of course Toshiya would say that”, “That’s a very Toshiya-like thing to say”, and, “Toshiya, you’re way too Nogoro-pilled. No matter how fast you throw, a pitcher can’t survive with just a fastball in this day and age, that’s an irresponsible path you’re sending Nishina down on”, but he managed to sell me in the end. Well, of course, it’s just a fad after all, you’re right, even if it’s like that, it’s just a fad after all, you’re right. (Tragically it’s unfathomably based of Mitsuda to call the current state of pitching “a fad”. Heartbreaking: The Worst Person You Know Just Made A Great Point). Doesn’t make it any less of a Toshiya-like thing to say though, lol. I’m not complaining, it’s weird for him to act this in-character in this shitty sequel, so I appreciate small moments like this. Overall, this is the rare once-in-a-while decent chapter (who would've thought this would be the case when focusing on actual men's baseball and other sports shonen manga type stuff). (checks watch) I suppose it's time for another six-month intermission before the next game now? No, rather, wasn't this game an intermission in and of itself? Sigh. I hope Nogoro at least makes an appearance, if the manga focused on his retirement that would be nice (until Mitsuda eventually fucks it up).
And I’m not sure if anyone noticed, but this release is slightly lower quality than usual. I downloaded the magazine from the same place I always do so I’m not sure why that’s the case, but it’s what I’ve got to work on
