I'm really glad the author is finally making use of the fact that the strength difference between young boys and girls is much, much smaller than between adults. There always could've been stronger female representation in the child era of Major, and it's cooler that Major 2nd is fixing the error.
On the other hand, this makes me really hope that we never reach the high school era of this new series, since any girls will be relegated to softball.
