Just made an account to reply. I just happened to realize that the manga is still ongoing since I originally followed the anime as a kid. But from my memory, the closest thing Gibson Sr. had to a debuff was when he was underperforming and dropped down to playing in the AAA league. I could be wrong though, final season for Major aired like 12 years ago. I am glad that there are still fans.
