Right, does the author think we just forgot about this? It always makes me uncomfortable in this manga when they do like the comedy bits with the witches and try to make them sympathetic. They're just straight up evil and Mr Priest needs to give them a true beating

he can use miracles still, but he can't call upon the angel's miracles, like reconstructing his body from holy matter, he still can use his "basic" stuff, which are still pretty op, but not his absolute best

The way I see the witches is that they're a bunch of people who've been oppressed by society (particularly the church) that were lured into becoming a witch in order to find a place to belong (and to get back at the society which oppressed them in the first place). I like them in a sense that they're a very good depiction of a cult or a terrorist organization. They seek out people unsatisfied with their lot in life, radicalize them into finding a singular source for all their problems, and then indoctrinate them into doing their bidding.
I don't think the Baba Yaga is planning on actually helping the witches once they get all the demon lord fragments. I'm willing to guess that she's just using them for her own purposes. I'm pretty sure Dante surmises as much during his fight with Vergil in the Sloth arc.

i think it is BECAUSE he got his ass whooped, that he resorted to do that, which will probably make the fight itself more diffcult for mr.priest, since it will make vergilius get in the way for sure

I know there are still steps of difference, but the priest can't complain, he literally almost destroyed the world for a selfish desire, it would literally be a painless genocide and he also tried to kill his friends, if it weren't for Imuri they would have turned to pulp. so both have a list of very serious sins

I don't think he can achieve the state he could when fighting asmodeus at the school for example, after descending to hell, he should be nerfed. And not even that, i didn't say that vergil would be a big problem to the priest but for sure it would be a nuisance, making the fight harder.
