I don't think she didn't consider her a friend. Rather, she was afraid to show intimacy outside the club. But yes, it was a joke.

No Romance tag on this so unfortunately looking like no Yuri outcome. Just a platonic main girl #1 and main girl #2. Have to see how well Yamamoto can sustain this series with no main couple romance. Takagi and Ayumu were a lot more successful than his CGDCT series, Kunoichi Tsubaki no Mune no Uchi and Tomorrow is Saturday.
