What's the point of going all "I'm only human, if scum like this appear before me I have nothing against killing them" and then just having them get killed by a snake so the MC gets the all the buffs without the burden of actually ending someone's life?

Also the snake getting the kill but the MC getting credit raises weird questions that shouldn't be asked - like shouldn't the MC just harmlessly poke as many people with that sword as he can, so that whenever they die he gets credit for their "murder"?
