Axe already fell only 4 more chapters ripI think I hear someone sharpening an axe...![]()
It didn't get axed so much as the author pretty much abandoned the light novel. So no more source material. Publisher probably thought there was no point in continuing a manga that doesn't really have an ending.Axe already fell over 4 more chapters rip
Is it actually abandoned (the LN)? I remember a comment in one of the previous chapter that the manga is an ad for the novel which keeps going for other arcs after this school fest/devil arc. Plus, I checked MAL out of curiosity and it states the novel as finished. It didn't get axed so much as the author pretty much abandoned the light novel. So no more source material. I wonder if another author or the mangaka themselves could in theory just take over and write what they want if the originial author just jumps ship.It didn't get axed so much as the author pretty much abandoned the light novel. There are two arcs across three volumes after this, if memory serves. The second of those arcs concludes with a big backstory reveal for Yuuto and Lizel; and a stinger for the next arc. Unfortunately the LN wasn’t selling well and was almost certainly axed. Months later the author had already moved on to writing Honey Trap Shared House. Is it actually abandoned (the LN)? Did the novel author axe his own work?
Nope, Japanese law favors the authors over the company. If the original author does not give explicit permission then nobody else can touch it. It's the same reason why everyone is claiming that Toriyama gave them explicit rights to continue Dragon Ball. If nobody can prove it then Dragon Ball as a franchise is basically dead.I wonder if another author or the mangaka themselves could in theory just take over and write what they want if the original author just jumps ship.
Why do these LN even get manga adaptations? Is disappointing just one group of people isn't enough for them? There are two arcs across three volumes after this, if memory serves. There’s almost never an announcement when a LN series is axed. They just stop getting updates one day. Once in a blue moon there’s a new volume years later for a series everyone thought was axed, but that isn’t the norm.
