Whoa, where'd all the stuff under the spoiler come from? The recent tomes of the LN? I read a few, but I don't remember anything of the kind.

To be fair, in the LNs at least, even human sorcerers don't really seem to consider themselves "human" anymore (Barbatos and Zagan have referred to "humans" as if they're separate from them iirc).

Zagan referred to humans as separate before he knew who his parents were/when he thought he had an average human background. I think his parentage is officially confirmed in LN13, but it's hinted at before that. LN12 discusses "a race with scarlet hair and eyes" who were "slaves to the seraphs" in regards to a new character who is later said to "resemble Chastille".

So J-Novel has not only licensed this series but appears to be rapidly catching up (they look like they make the first chapter of each volume free and they have linked on Mangadex all the way up to the start of the previous volume)

Several other groups scanlating other series that J-Novel just picked up have dropped their translations because of the official English release. Anyone know if No Group is doing so?

I might actually be at the point of getting a J-Novel subscription because they now have a bunch of series that I read (even if their track record on translation and name choices is a little spotty)

Richard... that's Rachel's brother. He's a holy knight too? I thought he was just an ordinary knight. Man, his unit took horrible casualties here, I was hoping they'd just get injured until reinforcements came but they basically got obliterated before Chastel arrived. I guess even if they don't look like generic mobs, that doesn't mean they'll be granted a single shred of plot armor (which I would've actually appreciated here). These guys are dead without any healers around.

On a side note I do like this reminder that Chastel is actually, legitimately pretty strong. Zagan is just overpowered by comparison, overshadowing everyone else lately. Yeah, that was a pretty cool entrance by her too. If she somehow gets in trouble I'm sure Barbaros will also appear to back her up, but I think she can hold her own here. Maybe not outright slay it since it's immortal, but rescuing Nephtheros is certainly within her ability.
