I know eventually they will hook up, but this heartbreak is meaningless drama for no reason.

Maybe cause Zagan holding back when fighting her before in early chapters and help her before. Though, he's doing those cause of Nephy. Yeah, Nephy. He considered her Nephy's friend after all.

I'm upset too, but, she's also a teenager. Most teenager would be like that, maybe? but would immediately uncrush knowing he's someone's groom. She's dense enough not to know what she felt though, but also kinda sensitive type. When a guy helping her, she kinda fall, maybe that's why. Idk.Bruh.

So, in conclusion, she liked a guy who Nephy made. If Zagan didn't meet Nephy, I'm sure he wouldn't give a damn about anything else before meeting Nephy.

Drama does suit her. She's the source of it sometime in this series.

But... Zagan was also the Villian to her in the first arc before she changed her mind on the church... I just don't understand why we are even doing this at all. Why have her retroactively realize she was in love? Then retroactively realize it's heartbreak literally years after those chapters came out? Chastille is lying right there, and I wish the author would resist the temptation to have everyone fall in love with the MC. It's been so long and we are so far removed from that initial arc, it just seems so crazy to even try have this be a story line at all.

It's like the editors came in and said "You forgot to make this a Harem, please have every woman Zagan has ever interacted with be in love him". No one is safe once it starts.

old ass post but this makes no sense. the first time they met, zagan saved her by killing her attackers. crude and ruthless yes but villain no. the second time she ‘attacked’ him due to the church vs mages thing, but deliberately tried to fake it by whispering to him and didn’t go all out for his sake but nephy intervened before her plan could work (zagan mentions she was sandbagging hard when he sees her use the holy sword at its limit)

they were never once really opposed and she’s never had anything other than positive feelings towards him, chastille having affections for zagan is totally believable since he’s an attractive and unbelievably powerful guy who has saved her life several times and trusts her implicitly, it wasn’t forced and this moment was foreshadowed plenty of times before this. in this very chapter we have a character state that she isn’t in love with him and that she probably has platonic, familial affection for zagan and not romantic love. gremory, the singer girl, the clothes store girl, etc have shown no signs of any feelings which is basically every other female character at this point that isn’t is mother-in-law and his adopted daughter. it’s literally just nephy and chastille who has completely given up on her unreciprocated love altogether
