You know re-reading that book I see exactly why Zagan burned it. That's was disgusting.

Lines like "These notes may one day come in handy when a hero who can defeat the demon appears" genuinely sicken me. Like this is some kind of documentary of Nephie's weakness.

It's sickeningly clear how the the village though they were unconditionally in the right, shit like "she has lost her smile". Like how can you think about and write a line like that and think you're the one in danger from a demon.

If I was Zagan I'd probably burn the whole village with the book, some how made the village elves even worse despite what we already knew.
