So this "Southern Union" thing, how does it work and how does it differ from the previous alliance?

They all seem to still be king so it isn't exactly there's someone that rules everything over the other, and I don't see much different from this to the previous alliance yet.

@Grimmycoffee - the point is, now they're covering half of the map of the human world. They have economic power, territory and strength to rival the Central.
Also, serfs of the new nations are now free, and smallpox vaccine is available to them.
