Is the ice bridge thing actually possible? I mean, I guess since magic is a thing sure, but the way it's presented sounds like it's possible in real history too.

It happened to the ancient city of Tyre, by Alexander the Great. They used the materials of the once famous walls to build a land bridge from the mainland settlement to attack the island of Tyre that the citizens had retreated to. IIRC, the first attempt to build a land bridge failed but the second succeeded.

After that, a lot of the other kingdoms didn't want to become that extinct and just let Alexander take them over.

Modern Tyre is located several km down the coast.

But what about the ice? I never heard salt making ice fuse together like that.

*and from what I've heard, Alexander didn't use ice for the bridge

Ah, my bad, I thought you meant the concept of building an impromptu bridge to cross a significant water distance, not the ice itself.

The ice thing is impossible because it requires cold enough water, which may already be salty, and even then will just dissolve althe salt faster than it can be laid down. That's a magic special.

And IRL by that point you're just better off waiting for winter and hoping it's a cold one.
