I think this is actually a translation glitch. This particular kind of bread, in the original French, is pain d'epi. Or just epi for short. "Epi" is the French word for wheat. A Japanese bakery would label the version with bacon ベーコン・エピ, which is almost the same as ベーコン・エビ -- bacon ebi with a B, and ebi is of course the Japanese word for shrimp.

Easy mistake to make! I only picked up on it because I've eaten a ton of bacon epi at Japanese bakeries while on vacation.
