@Kuu_dere_ Seriously, feel free to continue. I have absolutely no issue with you guys. Mangadex ignores DMCAs anyway.

To answer the question, licensing.

Just a side note, Yijin Jing is not a scripture. At most, you could call it a manual. Also, syntax-wise, MFZ's name, or any other name for that matter, should not have a space in between Fei and Zhen. 山麓 means the foot of a mountain, not a slope.

我师兄弟也不少 - Actually, he meant that he has many fellow martial siblings, not that he has many disciples.

会当凌绝顶 一览众山小 - Does not mean viewing two peaks. It means that everything look smalls from above - or otherwise, everything is insignificant in comparison.

Hope that helps.

Do you PR your mangas? The grammar is completely out of whack.

"Once upon a time ago" --> "Once upon a time" or "A long time ago" wtf is meshing them together half-fucked?

"And I happen to be the main protagonist of the story" --> "of the story" is completely redundant. Unless you meant to say "of this story", then perhaps there might be a significance in this.

"I was a very ordinary boy during my young years" --> so you could be an ordinary boy in your old years as well?

"Besides being handsome, there was nothing special about me" --> I think you meant to say "I didn't have any other strengths besides being handsome"

"I passionately looked up to the heroes of the martial world in legends" --> setting aside its supposed to be "the legends" here... The entire sentence structure itself is completely awkward. "I looked up to the legendary figures in the martial world"

"I want to learn martial arts so that I can become a prestigious name in the pugilistic world!" --> Did you fucking throw this entire sentence into google translate? Any DECENT speaker of english would know that this doesn't make sense.

To be honest, I gave up at this point.

I think you should hire a proper PR if you're going to continue translating this series.

To quote a dead meme, the english gave me cancer.

@Whyte,
""I want to learn martial arts so that I can become a prestigious name in the pugilistic world!" --> Did you fucking throw this entire sentence into google translate? Any DECENT speaker of english would know that this doesn't make sense."

That sentence has no problem syntax-wise or meaning-wise, it may look awkward but it totally makes sense

@maxnocz This was being translated by someone else with a proper command of English before he decided pick it up. I would very much prefer reading in proper English, instead of having to mentally correct, while writhing in agony as the grammar gives me cancer.

Besides, last I heard, this guy charges for his translations. Therefore, your argument falls flat (and very much dead). I would very much prefer someone, who is paid, to either take their damn job seriously or not bother at all.

@Whyte oh was that the POINT? My point was ARE YOU PAYING HIM/HER? ARE YOU? If not, then you know whats next. If you have nothing good to say dont say anything at all. Also, "Last I heard " where is that? Can you send me the link..

@maxnocz I have nothing good to say, because there is nothing good about his translations. And also because the project is sniped by someone who provided lower quality.

You're a complete joke. You want a link? How about you google it yourself to see if what I said is true or false?

But since you're lazy as fuck, and brainless as well, here's the link: https://www.patreon.com/posts/changes-to-13814332

See for yourself, and perhaps you should start wondering if PERHAPS he should start doing the series justice by PRing his mangas properly.

Don't get me wrong, I don't need his translations, I can read in chinese. I just like this series quite a bit, so its a pity to see someone with the audacity to snipe it and yet still translate so terribly.

@maxnocz Nope, I am not the other translator. Did you even check the credits page for the other upload? It sounds like you have no idea what you're talking about. Friendly advice: Read both versions and then compare the language between the two versions.

From the beginning to the end, I have only been talking about the terrible language standard used in this 'new' version. Unfortunately, nothing seems to go through your thick skull. I am not grateful for him 'translating' for free; I'm pissed that he dares to pass this off as a 'translation', when clearly, this is a disgrace to the English language.

Translators of novels and manga rely on the popularity of the series to gain support (in this case, financial support). They do not create content out of nothing, per se. They simply re-tell the same story in a language we are familiar in. Hence, the least they can do is to treat the series with respect, by checking their scripts and making sure its grammatically correct. Unfortunately, this is not the case here.

But what do we have here? A hot-blooded, self-righteous reader, whose entire argument rests on 'if you have nothing good to say, don't say anything' as if he is a grade-schooler ranting online. Besides, 'pay'? I'd be doxxing this fella if I really paid and received crap like this. But don't take my word for it, kiddo. Get your language teacher to vet through this entire chapter and perhaps you might begin to understand where you've gone wrong in this discussion. Now run along, you have lessons to attend.

@Whyte Should I keep arguing with a negative person? Instead of thanking the translator you started giving critics and bad reviews for a few wrong grammars. WOW.
"I am not grateful for him 'translating' for free; I'm pissed that he dares to pass this off as a 'translation', when clearly, this is a disgrace to the English language.

WOW. You have the guts to say that after reading something for free? WOW! I just cant believe how negative you are. I bet you didnt even read the other chapters and just started commenting on this first chapter and started crying about " HOW BAD THE ENGLISH IS I " . Well I think you can do better than that huh? Let me see those PERFECT SKILLS YOU HAVE then and then I'll give my comments and see how you'll like ppl talking trashy comments after reading your work for free. I know they get paid for translating this FOR FCK SAKE stop stating the OBVIOUS. God! Im out , I cant talk to negative ppl like you. Cause you will always find NEGATIVE THINGS TO EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING. Bye

@maxnocz This might be childish of me, I didn’t want to bring this up since it was irrelevant. But since you broached the subject... To clear the air, I don’t ‘think’ I can do better. I know I can. I translate “Hero? I Quit A Long Time Ago”. You can find it on MangaDex too. I started from Chapter 28. Since you brought it up, go ahead and realise your stupid challenge. I will welcome any constructive you may have. On a side note, do DM me if you find any mistakes, I tend not to revisit the comment threads of the older chapters.

Also, @wazowskiwazowski, I’m cancer? HUEHUEHUE. I grew up in an environment growing up where we don’t perpetuate mistakes. May I assume that you, as a parent, are going to be teaching your 3 y/o “once upon a time ago”? No? Then how about you just admit that a mistake is a fucking mistake instead of trying to draw non sequiturs? Gosh.

Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a ‘few’ grammar mistakes. I think I am at least mature enough to differentiate between honest mistakes and ‘I don’t give a fuck’ (beyond engaging in childish arguments in a comment thread). The entire chapter IS riddled with errors, you should know that if you read my initial comment.

@maxnocz I wasn’t sure in the beginning, but with this I guess I can now confirm that you haven’t been reading anything I’ve written in this comment thread. I’ve been wasting my time. It seems you’ve become completely defiant the moment all the points you made became bunk. Unfortunately (fortunately for me, actually), I shan’t continue wasting my time with a numbskull like you. So have fun with this disastrous translation (assuming, of course, that there has been no difference in the quality of the translations).

To quote your words, hmmmmm.... Lmao.

Not sure whether to question his vitality, since he seems to be near immortal or how the hell his shifu managed to get ahold of all those secret manuals and never get caught doing it.

Wow the salt. Whyte is part of ZTS, the other translation group for this chapter. No wonder he's so mad...

There's nothing wrong with this translation syntax wise, just reads awkwardly. I'd take it over your over-localized crap anyday though.

Just picking this up for the first time and wow, drama in the comments section from the first chapter eh?

Reading the comments below, if it reads awkwardly then you can't really call it a perfect translation, can you? To say that there's "nothing wrong" with it. Also, syntax ain't everything, its a creative piece not an essay lool.

In creative pieces its much better to consider and lean towards how the reader tales it and what they get from it rather than pure grammar and syntax. Hell that's why we leave words like "shifu" untranslated.
