The one-eyed demon is tens of thousands of years dead, so even if it was a demon saint back in the day, it has since weakened beyond measure. Wu Kuang was dead a mere fraction of that time, yet he needed to employ all sorts of methods to get enough power to somehow cheat his way to the ancestral domain, by the skin of his teeth. The ancient demon has been dead far, far longer.
