Why must it? It's not like it would be the only high rank yang material in the universe. It would merely be the one right in front of him. However, he's still a noob compared to genuine powerhouses, so he neither has an oppressing backround, truly marvelous resources to offer in exchange, nor the kind of profound wisdom old monsters with endless connections would have to judge what sort of things would really attract the other party's attention. Yang Kai is just a nouveau riche who knows neither the people or the universe, but still has more audacity than most thanks to his plot armor that prevents him from dying in a world where anyone else can drop dead at a moment's notice. It's also pretty clear he has long since broken the fourth wall and realised he has got a plot armor.
