Since those higher ranking ones from who knows where came in the first place, it probably didn't matter at all if Yang Kai killed that one gofer. He would have been nothing but a tool for first class sect to try to pretend they don't personally get involved in dealing with some brand new sect. But since they revealed themselves and joined the fight, does it matter anymore? I doubt those two worked in the background of all of this out of their own volition. Some heartless elder would have given them orders. Such an elder wouldn't even remember that Sword Union dude's name, nor would he care to know. He just wanted to oppress Yang Kai and the Void Land.
