Jesus, it really took witnessing this for Yang Kai to finally understand. I doubt there was a single reader who wouldn't have guessed what happened a long time ago. Especially when they met Xin Peng, who seemed just fine, despite his name having disappeared from the loyalty book. We got the big and important arc about the whole ink thing before the Yin-Yang arc, so no reader would have forgotten it yet. It's indeed the only thing (we know of) that would explain everything about what's going on in the Black Prison system. But, nah, deducing and inferring aren't a part of Yang Kai's toolbox.
