There's something wrong about those dragons. It's one thing to be tasked with protecting that pass between the ink battlefield and the 3000 worlds, but it's another thing if they aren't allowed to never leave the place, unless specially summoned. That means they are prisoners.

Its a simple agreement, they contribute to the war effort with barely any effort in exchange for being duty-bound to not abuse that cushy position and actually protect the Pass 24/7

It's a cushy position if they never want to see the world. Humans, and other intelligent monsters out there, are free to travel the universe as much as they can, only needing to join the ink war once, and if, thet hit a high enough cultivation. It would mean a thousand years of freedom. Dragons are stuck to that place straight out of the egg.

Well dragons back at star boundary also just sat for thousands of years on their private island, i guess dragons simply are like that
