One extremely annoying thing about this story is that despite there being 50 great daos, they aren't really used for anything at all. Yang Kai has time and space great daos (plus the spear dao), but he's only ever teleporting here and there. That's it. A couple of thousand chapters ago we actually had some more varied use of different techniques, but the author threw all of that into the trash can and ever since all fights are nothing but punching matches and hurling around featureless energy.
Recently we saw how Yang Kai used the universe furnace projection's distorted space to basically trap enemies he could then relatively safely hurt, due to his own dao of space. So, why on Earth doesn't he create such distorbed space himself to trap enemies and then slowly whittle away their health, while keeping himself safe? Because the author is a bonehead, that's why.
