Ouyang is a disappointing ninth ranker (though not as disappointing as slow head Xiang, obviously). Ouyang was always all brawn, no brains, so one would think he would be a total machine in battle, but in fact he's getting his ass kicked by the promoted ink royal lord. He's basically only good for binding one weak ink royal lord in place, so that others can do their work elsewhere. But even after becoming ninth rank, Ouyang still can't personally defeat anyone but those of lower rank. It's not even about stabilising his cultivation because he said himself that he can't do it through meditation, it will only happen in battle. So, logically it has already happened, he just doesn't amount to much. Of course he's still much better than slow head Xiang.
