I mean, Qiu literally tried to murder him and destroyed his sect, yet he not only let her live, but even befriended her. The Lan girl was just looking out for herself... what did he expect? She barely knew him, and he wanted her to be the wing he could take shelter under? It's his own fault for pushing other people away. Why should you punish someone who just wants to survive?
Granted I don't know shit about her character either. But she doesn't seem like a bad person at all.
