Ao pulling up on the police station like that is badass. I would be badass but unrealistic if he raided the police station then killed someone to try and get away.
The better plan is clearly to spend a day at the highschool breaking into the cabinets to find Mitsushima's home address then spend a few days closing in on mitsushima. Ao should know by now that he's either the mastermind or he's the furthest up the chain Ao has found so far.
