IMO, it depends on why the system was put in the story. If it's just a weak excuse as for why the MC grow stronger, then yes it's trash (all the level systems)
But when you can't find another way to explain the buff to the MC, it's okay. Sure, it's a pretty weak explanation, but it's better than an explanation that makes no sense.
I find this is the case here: it's not a level system that makes the MC strong for no reason. But you also need an explanation on why he gain martial arts knowledge but with restrictions. Sure, you could just say it's a mythical and magical library (but let's face it: it's just a system under disguise) but that wouldn't explain why it has martial arts from multiple worlds, and also the question of why it exist will come. (It's an advantage of the system: you don't need to explain the origin or the purpose).
So, for Tl; dr: the system was probably the best way to explain in this story
EDIT: Sorry, just found out that later, he receive reward from the system. This thing is dumb, I agree
