Honestly, I love me an anti-hero protagonist. But a true villainous protagonist is just not fun to watch, because there's no protagonist to take them down a peg (or ten). They just do whatever the heck they want with hardly any consequences, and that just ticks me off. But apparently, this type of protagonist is pretty popular for some reason. I'd love to understand why myself.
