Feels like 1 chapter worth of story was skipped. Confusing, but I can sort of understand what happened.

Ok so to clarify, The small chick came from the black and red egg inside the cave MC followed Ye Fan into. It cracked when he got smote. Here is the missing development from the web novel:

Behind Chu Xiu came a sound, the cracking of an eggshell.
Oh no.
I forgot I still had this strange egg.

"Kid, you'd better show some respect, or I'll bite you."
Its voice was childish, but its words were extremely arrogant, making one want to hit it.
Chu Xiu's pupils narrowed, and he tightened his grip.
The chick screamed continuously, begging for mercy.
"Don't don't don't... My bones are breaking... Big brother, I was wrong... Spare me."
"Who are you? Don't tell me you are the reincarnated God Crow, the prospective Demon Emperor."
