I truly pity the mother. Yes, she’s evil but she’s not even the boss or anything. Just a mere henchman. She didn’t kill MC because she cares somewhat, even if it’s in this twisted sorta way. But she loves her son truly.
In the end, she was just victim used by those above her to do terrible deeds. Despite all that happened, MC loved her just as much as a real mother.

I feel the Moyong nephew (MC cousin) [that dude with the centipede and possessed sis] will also be in a similar role, where he is reluctantly evil, and it'll be cathartic to see him slip up intentionally to aid the protags. Perhaps if that parasite could be removed, he'll be the face of a new direction for that clan (mirroring our own MC's turnaround).
