Well, to be fair, before now he was still kinda unchallenged in the sense of being a hunter (in-game) going after, low-level players before Sofia showed up and threw the glove down. Now, the playing field's leveled, he must now grow, which is what this arc is about. He also needs to understand his flaws and over come them in order to do so, thus the reason why earlier he was forced to go in bare-fisted. Contrary to popular belief - and curtesy to Mythbusters for solving this - you CAN teach an old dog new tricks, it's just much harder to do and takes more time than it would with someone younger.

Also, Sofia's going though an arc of her own, so there's several things going on that caused the pace to slow down, but I'm remaining hopeful that when it's grand final time, it'll all pay off (at least it better).

the weird thing is how sofia is portrayed as a super pro in teh beginning (top rankings of the world etc) yet she got the worf flu once she joined the mc. can't seem to carry matagi even when shes paired with knifer and doesn't even know what the role of a coach does.

Respect for the salaryman for not blowing up in his boss' face. But, at the same time, manage your time better man... I totally get staying up late to play game, especially for money like this. But he gotta do better.

Aren't you supposed to make sure you're actually making money in your gaming/online career before quitting your IRL one? Especially one you consider to be your 'safety net'? If I recall, even the biggest YouTubers and streamers didn't quit their dayjob until they started making good money.

Amagami's life is pretty depressing. He's still sacricing time, all alone, to try and go pro in a video game. He probably could do it, if he had a coach like Matagi Gunner. But he's so self-driven that he doesn't see the value in other people's advice, so would he even accept the advice of a coach? He even quit his job after being reprimanded, after all.

It seems the training of not immediately fighting has helped Yamano become more careful in his gunfights! Hino is a pretty useful guy after all!
