I appreciate cooking manga but can we please lay off the "here's some cold stock and simmered vegetables and we're going to treat it like the world's finest dining" thing?

Japan has a fucking chip on its shoulder about its traditional cooking but then most of the food they actually enjoy now are permutation of things that came from other cultures.
