Bruh, not even hillbillies smoke food inside a carboard box, unless in Japan they have some ultra-high class cardboard that will scrunch over, pick up fire inside, get greasy ass hell or in the best scenario leave the food with cardboard taste.... definitely not a good choice.
Also, for camping a travel grill can let you make almost anything while camping: BBQ, hot dogs, fish, etc. The idea is bring less stuff around to keep the cooking as simple as possible... and also as less intrusive as possible to dispose everything properly as to leave as little impact one the ecosystem while you're camping.
